Bio
Hello! I’m Mariana Leimontas, an emerging author with a passion for historical fiction and science fiction. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, I now call Minneapolis, Minnesota my home, bringing a global perspective to my writing.
As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’m committed to creating diverse and inclusive stories that reflect the world we live in. My upcoming science fiction thriller features LGBTQ+ characters, as I believe in the importance of representation in literature.
My journey into the world of storytelling is rooted in my education. I hold a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Buenos Aires and another in Scriptwriting from the Instituto de Estudios Radiofonicos (ISER). This blend of visual creativity and narrative skills forms the foundation of my writing style.
My love for literature began in childhood, where I spent countless hours reading with my twin sister. Writing became a natural progression from this lifelong passion. It’s not just something I do; it’s an integral part of who I am.
I’m thrilled that my writing has already received some recognition. As part of a team, I won the ARGENTORES (Argentine Society of Authors) short-film scriptwriting competition. My English-language debut, a historical drama radio script titled “The Plot,” was produced by a Canadian radio theater company – an achievement I’m particularly proud of.
Currently, I’m putting the finishing touches on my debut science fiction thriller. This project has been close to my heart for nearly a decade, and I’m excited to finally share it with readers. In my day job, I work as a front-end web developer, and my interest in technology often influences my science fiction writing.
In my stories, you’ll find strong protagonists and immersive, action-packed plots. My goal is simple: I want to entertain you while also promoting diversity and representation. I strive to create captivating narratives that allow you to lose yourself in the worlds I create, whether they’re rooted in history or projected into the future.
When I’m not writing, you can find me exploring the latest developments in technology or diving into my favorite science fiction space operas and thrillers.
